  • Dimond Park Aquatic Center Whirpool Update:
On Friday, March 30 the bid for mechanical and electrical work on the Dimond Park Aquatic Center whirlpool was awarded to Schmolck Mechanical. The expected completion of the whirlpool is July 27. The work timeline proved by the contractor for this project is available for view by clicking on the title of this notice. During the April pool closure Schmolck Mechanical were able to begin work by pouring concrete for equipment foundations in the mechanical rooms and they started working on piping and electricl work. Schmolck Mechanical is currently working after regular pool hours so they do not cause disruptions during the day. Thank you for your continued patience as we move toward final completion and opening of the whirlpool at Dimond Park Aquatic Center!

  • New P&R Youth Sport for the Summer of 2012 - Floorball (hockey):
What is floorball? Floorball is fun, fast, safe and inexpensive, requiring only a stick, sneakers, shorts and a t-shirt to play. Teams consist of up to 20 players, with five field players and a goalie on the court at a time in official matches. A floorball goalie wears light padding and a mask but does not have a stick. The game can be easily picked up by beginners; yet, it holds great potential for development of stick and ball handling, passing and shooting skills. Floorball is ideal for coed and mixed age groups due to the emphasis on speed, skill and technique over physical strength. Injuries are not much of a factor because the stick is made of a lightweight (carbon or other type) fiber with a plastic blade and the ball is a plastic ball. Body and stick checking are not permitted and playing of the ball above the knee is illegal. Registration runs April 23-May 11. The season runs June 12-August 2.
